Part of the free Windows Live suite is “Live Writer” . The new 2011 version is out now and has a lot more functionality and layout of Office 2010.
It seems to work well after a 5 minute learning curve.
It’s worth a look if you want to more than just post text to your blog, it makes for example adding pics and forms much easier.

This post makes me sad. I don't use windows update all that often because i dont like to fix things that arent broken but I saw I needed to update a few things to install and utilize the new Windows Live Writer 2011 (because it now updates to blogspot) and the update crashed my computer. I cried for 2 days, finally fixed it and I won't be using windows update anymore! So I can't use the new live writer either :(
Julia, sometimes during update, if for example you lose the wifi signal for a few seconds you can drop a few needed files. That is just an example. You can delete the file and start over, you need the updates for security reasons. Especially if you use IE or Outlook. Also go to stat and run 'mrt" before you do the updates and if you can plug into the net rather than wireless you are much better off.
